weekending

We were blessed with a beautiful (albeit a bit windy) weekend here in the Bay of Plenty. Here's how we spent it:

A bit of lawn mowing.

A bit of gardening.

A bit of attempting to move... unsuccessful thank goodness ~ our gardens are safe for another day!

Fathers day fluffies on the beachfront down the mount.

Finished up with tackling one of those list items.

We also spent some time reflecting how fortunate we are to have warm beds and a roof over our heads, in light of the horrible Earthquake in Christchurch in the early hours of Saturday morning. Thankfully none of our friends or family were effected too badly. Living in a high natural disaster risk area ourselves (60m from the shoreline.... not so good in a tsunami), reality has hit home of how unprepared we are if anything were to ever happen. I for one will be getting my emergency kit sorted!

To all those out there affected by this disaster, our thoughts are with you. Arohanui.
